Year in Music 

Here are some of my favorite albums and favorite music experiences from this year.

Favorite Live Shows of the Year.   

Nine Inch Nails, Rainbow Kitten Surprise, Death Cab for Cutie, Gang of Youth and Flipturn at Shakey Knees Festival in Atlanta.  

Shiny Ribs on the Santa Fe Square. 

Kendrick Lamar at American Airlines Center in Dallas.  

Father John Misty at the Criterion in Oklahoma City.  

The National at TCU amphitheater in Indianapolis.  

Each album brought sorrow, growth and a little optimism. I can not wait to see what albums come out this year.

2. A Light for Attracting Attention by The Smile; Track – The Smoke  This isn’t a single song. At the beginning of the year, they performed a three song set on Tiny Desk Concert. I love seeing musicians play.

3. angel in realtime. By Gang of Youths; Track – in the wake of your leave 

4. Dragon New Warm Mountain I Believe In You by Big Thief; Track – Simulation Swarm 

5. Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers by Kendrick Lamar; Track – Die Hard 

6. Chloe and the Next 20^th Century by Father John Misty; Track – Goodbye Mr. Blue 

7. Wet Leg by Wet Leg; Track – Ur Mum 

8. Lucifer on the Sofa by Spoon; Track – Satellite  

9. Dawn FM by The Weeknd; Track – Gasoline
